About Me

I hold an Associates Degree in Communications, a Bachelors Degree in Health Science and a Masters Degree in Community Counseling which I received in 2007.  I am credentialed as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) by the North Carolina Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and also as a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist  (LCAS) by the North Carolina Substance Abuse Professional Practice Board. I am also credentialed as a National Certified Counselor (NCC) by the National Board for Certified Counselors and a professional member of the American Counseling Association.

I began my career as a counselor with a public mental health agency, East Alabama Mental Health in Auburn, Alabama before moving to Western North Carolina in 2008. Upon my move to NC, I began work with a local agency in town.  I stayed with this agency for the next seven years which allowed me to become fully versed in working with individuals who struggle with a wide aray of challenges.  My experience includes providing indivdiual and group sessions to individuals with mental health and/or substance abuse challenges.  I have taught groups on Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, PTSD, substance abuse, and effective communication skills for the last six years and was the lead facilitator for a Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program for four years.

In my spare time, I enjoy hiking and photography.
